IKEA! The only problem is that we didn't really like any of their twin beds, and the space in our son's room was tight. So we bought a simple Eina bed, but wanted to spruce it up. We tried, scraped it all off, sanded, tried again.....no dice. The paint just flakes right off. We banded the edges with black <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Tape-2-Inch-35-Yard-Roll/dp/B000CSS8UE?ie=UTF8&tag=ikeahacker-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969" target="_blank">Gorilla tape</a><img alt="" border="0" height="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=ikeahacker-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000CSS8UE" style="border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important;" width="1" />, set down the stripes along each board, put it together and voila! A beautiful rainbow bed. I used the L shaped hinges for the door. I screwed them into the table and on the door I used a 2 part epoxy. I also used the epoxy to fix the handle and the metal piece for the magnetic door latch. The magnetic part is screwed in.
