And made a new background out of plywood. Because the cardboard is not strong enough to hold the deer head.  <br /><br />Glue the wallpaper on the plywood place in the frame and mount the deer head on the plywood. I kept thinking to myself "What the heck am I gonna do with this?"� Half a year of dreaming and scheming went by before I decided to frame a giant-sized photo from my brother's Jamaican wedding...  <br /><br />Which didn't work at all because the frame was OVAL. The frame is beautiful but framing images is a challenge, so I decided to create a cork board instead.  <br /><br /><a name="more"></a><br />Step 1: Gather corks. Usually any wine bar will give you leftover corks for free. All you have to do is ask!  <br /><br />Step 2: Remove the glass (or in my case, break it into pieces) and cut a piece of foam core to fit behind the cardboard oval.   <br /><br />Step 3: Prime & Paint the frame with spray paint. Don't sand the frame at all before painting. Put the cardboard oval where the glass used to be. cut a foam  core oval to fit behind it and secure in frame. Lay out your pattern.  This part will be the most difficult if you use an oval frame because  nothing will fit EXACTLY. Overestimate the corks needed in the layout. <br /><br />Step 5: Glue corks in pattern with hot glue gun. I purchased an Ung Drill frame. <br /><br />I sprayed painted it with white acrylic primer. Following that I brushed on a a layer of Liquid Leaf classic gold paint. <br /><br />I removed the glass from the frame. With a craft knife I cut out the silhouttes, creating multiples of stencils. <br /><br />I painted the background colours on the canvas sheet. I thought the Ung Drill was just perfect for this purpose! <br /><br />First I removed the cardboard from the back, then I wrapped the tulle fabric around the glass inlay and sewed the whole thing together in the front, so that the the leftovers from the fabric would resemble a "rose" at the front. I happened to have leftovers from my Anno Sanela Panels and used this to upholster my cork/batting.  <br />5. Place into frame and secure  <br />6. Wrap ribbon and/or flower embellishments to create a more personalized look  <br />7. Place pins as desired on board <br />8.
