There are a lot of great leg choices at Ikea but the Galant legs are adjustable, and that was important to us so that it can be used for any drawer unit, no matter what the height. And durable to boot! <br /><br /><a name="more"></a><br />1. Measure your wall or desired length of workstation. <br /><br />2. Cut Numerar to the appropriate length to span your wall, or other desired width. <br /><br />3. Grab your Byske legs and start turning em', it's going to take a while to extend them out to standing height... <br /><br />Tip: Once you have them to what seems like a comfortable height, get someone to help you set either your countertop, or another flat surface on top of them so that your work station is the right height so that you're arms bend at the elbow in about a 90 degree angle. <br /><br />4.  Mark your studs at your desired height and use 2 1/2" (or so) drywall screws to mount your generic heavy duty shelf supports to the wall.  Mount one to about every other stud to make sure your bar has good support across the back. <br /><br />5.  Set your countertop up on those back supports and prop up the front with your Byske legs.  Use 1" wood screws to screw it all together. Then I used the Grundtal legs as wall brackets securing it with concrete screws. And placed the 1/4" top on the wall bracket to rest with the fluorescent lamp against the wall. <br /><br />I wonder what I will do for its third life. <br /><br />Just a side note those chairs hanging are Jokkmokk. These legs are the tallest ones we could find at IKEA, and they're adjustable up to about 42". Online they say you shouldn't use these legs unless you're going to mount your table top to the wall. We didn't mount my desk because we didn't want it to be permanently fixed in one spot. The legs are a bit wobbly (I can understand IKEA's warning), but since I have it propped up against a wall, I don't feel a whole lot of shakiness. <br /><br />Then we attached an Ekby Jarpen Shelf, which was $9.99, using two Ekby Tore Brackets, $5.00 each for a total of $10. I needed my monitors to be up higher (at eye level), and this shelf does the trick. I really wanted one but not a small desk for $600. <br /><br />After a long search for a wide and inexpensive standing office desk, I have decided to combine the following items together: Main desk area is a Vika Amon Table Top 79"x 24", legs are adjustable Vika Byske (5) - I was worried how sturdy these will be at 40" high but they end up working out great. <br /><br />Now I just needed to figure out a stand for my mac and a monitor. Voila Capita Braket and a Lack 75"x10" wall shelf. Standing ergonomic table is done. Well thanks to my husband who put it all together for me. <br /><br />I have also purchased Franklin 29" bar chair to sit down when my legs get tired. $29 beats the $600 for the price of the motor to put the table up and down.<br /><br />Today is day 1 of my cool new desk and I love it.
