Materials: IVETOFTA candle lantern

Description: IVETOFTA gets an industrial makeover with spray paint. These little firepots cast the most gorgeous warm glow, reminiscent of an old boiler room.

You will need...
-IVETOFTA candle lantern
-Spray primer in gray
-Rust-Oleum's Hammered Metal spray paint in gray
-Acrylic craft paint (I used 2 paint colors- antique copper and dark burnt umber)
-Liquid gold leaf
-2 foam brushes
-Painter's tape
-Paper towel

Instructions:
  1. Spray paint the lantern with primer, followed by 2 coats of hammered metal finish.
  2. Once dry, using a foam brush, paint the inside of the lantern with liquid gold leaf.
  3. Using a different foam brush, apply streaks of acrylic craft paint around the circumference of the lantern, wiping with a paper towel.
  4. Spray a bit more of the hammered metal paint on a paper plate. Using painter's tape, apply the extra paint to the surface of the lantern. Technique: stick, then pull. Repeat in random areas over the surface of the lantern to achieve a more weathered look.

Safety note: Allow lanterns to dry for at least 24 hours prior to using!
